How is it administered?
IV infusion only via pump. Initial adult dose: 5 mcg/min (non-adsorptive tubing). Titrate in 5 mcg/min increments every 3-5 mins based on response. Continuous BP and HR monitoring required.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to organic nitrates; use of PDE inhibitors (sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil) or riociguat; hypotension; uncorrected hypovolemia; increased intracranial pressure; corn allergy.

Nitroglycerin adsorbs to PVC tubing; use non-adsorptive sets. Risk of fluid overload, hyperglycemia (dextrose content), and severe hypotension/shock. Avoid in hereditary fructose intolerance.
