How is it administered?
Intravenous use only. Administer at a rate of no more than 10 mg/min or over at least 60 minutes. Adults: 500 mg every 6 hours or 1 g every 12 hours. Adjust dose for renal impairment.

Store in a freezer at or below -20°C. Thawed solution stable for 72 hours at room temperature (25°C) or 30 days under refrigeration (5°C). Do not refreeze.

Known hypersensitivity to the antibiotic.
Warnings and precautions
Rapid bolus may cause exaggerated hypotension/cardiac arrest. Risk of ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity. Monitor serum levels. Avoid in patients with corn allergy (dextrose version).
