How is it administered?

Contraindications
Severe lactic acidosis; uncorrectable mechanical defects preventing effective dialysis; documented loss of peritoneal function or extensive adhesions.
Warnings and precautions
Rare risk of Encapsulating Peritoneal Sclerosis (EPS). Risk of peritonitis and lactic acidosis. Caution in patients with corn allergy. Monitor fluid balance and electrolytes. Not for IV use.
