What is APO-RASAGILINE used for?
APO-RASAGILINE (rasagiline mesylate tablets) is indicated for: • the treatment of the signs and symptoms of idiopathic Parkinson’s disease as initial monotherapy, and as adjunct therapy to dopamine agonists or to levodopa. The effectiveness of rasagiline mesylate tablets was demonstrated in patients with early Parkinson’s disease who were receiving rasagiline mesylate tablets as monotherapy and who were not receiving any concomitant dopaminergic therapy. The effectiveness of rasagiline mesylate tablets as adjunct therapy was demonstrated in patients with Parkinson’s disease who were treated with dopamine agonists in early stages or levodopa in more advanced stages of the disease.

Contraindications
Concomitant use with opioid analgesics (e.g., meperidine, tramadol), SSRIs, SNRIs, tricyclic/tetracyclic antidepressants, cyclobenzaprine, St. John’s wort, dextromethorphan, and other MAO inhibitors.
Warnings and precautions
Sudden onset of sleep, serotonin syndrome, hypertension/tyramine interaction, orthostatic hypotension, hallucinations, impulse control disorders, and increased risk of melanoma.
