What is TELMISARTAN used for?
Telmisartan is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate essential hypertension in adults, either alone or in combination with thiazide diuretics. It is also indicated to reduce the risk of non-fatal stroke or non-fatal myocardial infarction in adults 55 years or older at high risk of developing major cardiovascular events who cannot tolerate an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI).
