What is AURO-TERBINAFINE used for?
Auro-Terbinafine (terbinafine hydrochloride) is indicated for the treatment of fungal infections of the skin and nails caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton (e.g. T. rubrum, T. mentagrophytes, T. verrucosum, T. violaceum), Microsporum canis, Epidermophyton floccosum and yeasts of the genus Candida (eg. C. albicans), as well as Malassezia furfur. It is also indicated for the treatment of onychomycosis (fungal infection of the nail) caused by dermatophyte fungi. It may be considered for the treatment of severe tineal skin infections (tinea corporis, tinea cruris and tinea pedis) which have been unresponsive to topical treatment.
