What is EPREX STERILE SOLUTION used for?
EPREX® (epoetin alfa) is indicated to elevate or maintain the red blood cell level (as manifested by the hematocrit or hemoglobin determinations) and to decrease the need for transfusions. It is indicated for the treatment of anemia associated with chronic renal failure (CRF), transfusion-dependent anemia related to therapy with zidovudine in HIV-infected patients, anemia due to concomitantly administered chemotherapy, and to reduce allogeneic blood transfusions and hasten erythroid recovery in patients undergoing major elective surgery. It also facilitates autologous blood collection within a predeposit program.
