What is ALTACE used for?
ALTACE (ramipril) is indicated for the treatment of Essential Hypertension, alone or in association with thiazide diuretics or felodipine. It is also used for treatment following acute myocardial infarction in clinically stable patients with signs of left ventricular dysfunction to improve survival and reduce hospitalizations for heart failure. Additionally, ALTACE may be used to reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke or cardiovascular death in patients > 55 years of age at high risk of cardiovascular events due to a history of coronary artery disease, stroke, peripheral artery disease, or diabetes with at least one other cardiovascular risk factor.
