How is it administered?

Contraindications

Hyperkalemia, renal failure, potassium retention, hypersensitivity to sodium lactate. Contraindicated with ceftriaxone in newborns (≤ 28 days) due to risk of fatal salt precipitation.

Warnings and precautions

Risk of hyponatremia, fluid/solute overload, and electrolyte disturbances. Monitor serum electrolytes and ECG. Do not administer with citrate anticoagulated blood. Risk of air embolism.
