What is CLINDAMYCIN INJECTION USP used for?
Clindamycin Injection USP is indicated for the treatment of serious infections due to susceptible anaerobic bacteria, such as Bacteroides species, Peptostreptococcus, anaerobic streptococci, Clostridium species and microaerophilic streptococci. It is also indicated for serious infections due to susceptible strains of gram positive aerobic bacteria (staphylococci, including penicillinase - producing staphylococci, streptococci and pneumococci) and Chlamydia trachomatis, particularly when other antibiotics are not suitable or effective. It is indicated for lower respiratory infections, skin and skin structure infections, gynecological infections, intra-abdominal infections, septicemia, bone and joint infections, and Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia in patients with AIDS.
