What is KENALOG-40 INJECTION used for?
Intramuscular (I.M.) administration is indicated for systemic corticosteroid therapy in conditions such as dermatoses, generalized rheumatoid arthritis, and other connective tissue disorders. It is also indicated for allergic diseases, with epinephrine being the drug of choice for acute allergic reactions and steroid therapy being adjunctive. I.M. administration is particularly valuable when oral corticosteroid therapy is not feasible. Intra-articular or intrabursal administration, and injections into tendon sheaths, are indicated as adjunctive therapy for short-term administration in conditions including synovitis of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, acute and subacute bursitis, acute gouty arthritis, epicondylitis, acute nonspecific tenosynovitis, and post-traumatic osteoarthritis.
