What is PRO-AMOX-500 used for?
PRO-AMOX (amoxicillin) may be indicated in the treatment of infections due to susceptible strains of Gram-negative organisms (H. influenzae, P. mirabilis and N. gonorrhoeae) and Gram-positive organisms (Streptococci including Streptococcus faecalis and Streptococcus pneumoniae). It may also be indicated as prophylaxis against alpha-hemolytic (Viridan's group) Streptococci before dental, oral or upper respiratory tract surgery or instrumentation, and for prophylaxis of bacterial endocarditis in patients with certain cardiac conditions.
