What is ALLOPRIN used for?
Allopurinol is indicated for the long-term management of hyperuricemia associated with primary or secondary gout. It is also indicated in the treatment of primary or secondary uric acid nephropathy, to control hyperuricemia secondary to blood dyscrasias or tumorlysis induced by cancer chemotherapy, and to prevent recurrence of uric acid stone formation and calcium stone formation in specific patient groups.
