ALDACTONE (spironolactone) is indicated for the diagnosis of primary hyperaldosteronism, management of edema and sodium retention in Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), treatment of cirrhosis of the liver accompanied by edema and/or ascites, inducing diuresis in patients with nephrotic syndrome unresponsive to other therapies, essential hypertension (usually in combination with other drugs), and treatment/prophylaxis of hypokalemia when other measures are inappropriate or inadequate.
