Contraindications
Thrombophlebitis, thromboembolic disorders, cerebrovascular/coronary artery disease, DVT, hypertension, liver disease/tumours, breast cancer, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, pregnancy, hypersensitivity.
Warnings and precautions
Cigarette smoking increases risk of serious cardiovascular effects, especially in women >35. Increased risk of VTE, stroke, and MI. Does not protect against STIs/HIV.
