How is it administered?
Trichomoniasis: 2g single dose or 250mg BID for 10 days. Amebiasis: 750mg TID for 5-7 days. Giardiasis: 250mg BID for 5-7 days. Bacterial Vaginosis: 500mg BID for 7 days. Anaerobic infections: 500mg q8h.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to metronidazole or nitroimidazole derivatives; active neurological disorders; history of blood dyscrasia, hypothyroidism, or hypoadrenalism.
Warnings and precautions
Carcinogenic in mice/rats. Risk of severe neurological disturbances (seizures, neuropathy). Severe hepatotoxicity in Cockayne syndrome. Avoid alcohol during and 1 day after therapy.
