What is EPINEPHRINE INJECTION used for?
In general, the most common uses of parenteral epinephrine are to relieve respiratory distress due to bronchospasm, to provide rapid relief of hypersensitivity (anaphylactic or anaphylactoid) reactions to drugs, animal serums and other allergens. Its cardiac effects may be of use in restoring cardiac rhythm in cardiac arrest due to various causes, and attacks of transitory atrioventricular (A-V) heart block and syncopal seizures (Stokes-Adams syndrome), but it is not used in cardiac failure or in hemorrhagic, traumatic, or cardiogenic shock.
