What is RIVA-TENOFOVIR used for?
RIVA-TENOFOVIR (tenofovir disoproxil fumarate) is indicated for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in combination with other antiretroviral agents in patients 12 years of age and older. RIVA-TENOFOVIR is also indicated for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B infection in patients 18 years of age and older, with compensated liver disease, evidence of active viral replication, elevated serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels or evidence of fibrosis, evidence of lamivudine-resistant hepatitis B virus, or decompensated liver disease.
