What is CEFEPIME FOR INJECTION, USP used for?
Cefepime for Injection, USP (cefepime hydrochloride for injection) is indicated in the treatment of the following infections when caused by susceptible strains of the designated microorganisms: Lower respiratory tract infections (Nosocomial and community acquired pneumonia, Acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis), Uncomplicated and complicated urinary tract infections, including pyelonephritis, Skin and skin structure infections, Peritonitis due to gangrenous and perforated appendicitis, Bacterial septicemia, Empiric therapy in febrile neutropenic patients. Also indicated in pediatric patients for the treatment of infections listed below when caused by susceptible bacteria: Lower respiratory tract infections (Nosocomial and community acquired pneumonia), Uncomplicated and complicated urinary tract infections, including pyelonephritis, Skin and skin structure infections, Empiric therapy in febrile neutropenic patients.
