What is ALMOTRIPTAN used for?
Almotriptan (almotriptan malate) tablets are indicated for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura. Almotriptan is not intended for the prophylactic therapy of migraine or for use in the management of hemiplegic, ophthalmoplegic or basilar migraine. Almotriptan is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine headache pain in patients 12-17 years of age who have a history of migraine attacks with or without aura usually lasting 4 hours or longer (when untreated).
