What is MINT-CLOPIDOGREL used for?
MINT-CLOPIDOGREL (clopidogrel bisulfate) is indicated: for the secondary prevention of atherothrombotic events (myocardial infarction, stroke and vascular death) in patients with atherosclerosis documented by stroke, myocardial infarction, or established peripheral arterial disease. in combination with acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), for the early and long- term secondary prevention of atherothrombotic events (myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke, cardiovascular death and/or refractory ischemia) in patients with acute coronary syndromes - without ST segment elevation (i.e., unstable angina or non-Q-wave myocardial infarction). For patients with ST-segment elevation acute myocardial infarction, clopidogrel bisulfate has been shown to reduce the rate of an endpoint of all-cause mortality and the rate of a combined end-point of death, re-infarction or stroke. In patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) who have at least one risk factor for vascular events, who are not suitable for treatment with an anticoagulant and who have a low risk of bleeding, MINT-CLOPIDOGREL in combination with low-dose ASA is indicated for the prevention of atherothrombotic and thromboembolic events, including stroke.
