JENTADUETO (linagliptin /metformin hydrochloride tablets) is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise, to improve glycemic control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who are: inadequately controlled on metformin, or already controlled with the free combination of linagliptin and metformin. JENTADUETO (linagliptin/metformin hydrochloride tablets) is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise, to improve glycemic control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus: in combination with a sulfonylurea, when dual therapy with metformin and a sulfonylurea do not provide adequate glycemic control, or in combination with basal insulin, when dual therapy with metformin and basal insulin do not provide adequate glycemic control.

Contraindications
Type 1 diabetes, metabolic acidosis, history of lactic acidosis, severe renal impairment (eGFR <30 mL/min/1.73 m2), severe hepatic dysfunction, excessive alcohol intake, pregnancy, breastfeeding.
Warnings and precautions
Serious Warning: Lactic acidosis due to metformin accumulation. Risk of heart failure, pancreatitis, serious hypersensitivity reactions, and Vitamin B12 deficiency.
