What is PHL-AMOXICILLIN used for?
phl-AMOXICILLIN (Amoxicillin for Oral Suspension, USP) is indicated in the treatment of infections due to susceptible strains of gram-negative (Haemophilus influenzae, Escherichia coli, Proteus mirablis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae) and gram-positive (Streptococci, Diplococcus pneumoniae and non-β-lactamase-producing staphylococci) organisms. It is also indicated in the prophylaxis against alpha-haemolytic (viridans group) streptococci before dental, oral or upper respiratory tract surgery or instrumentation, and in the prophylaxis of bacterial endocarditis for patients with specific cardiac conditions.
