How is it administered?

Adults: 0.15 to 0.8 mg/day. Pediatrics: Dosage based on weight (≤1 mcg/kg/day to 15 mcg/kg/day). Administer by intravenous infusion after dilution only.

How is it stored and handled?

Store between 15 and 28ºC. Protect from freezing. After dilution, use within 24 hours.

How is it supplied?

Single use vials of 10 mL, boxes of 10. Stopper is not made with natural rubber latex.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to this drug or to any ingredient in the formulation, including any non-medicinal ingredient, or component of the container.

Warnings and precautions

Hypotonic solution; must be diluted. Do not give by direct injection (risk of phlebitis). Excess manganese can lead to brain deposition and Parkinson-like/neuropsychiatric symptoms.
