What is NOVAMOXIN used for?
Novamoxin (amoxicillin) may be indicated in the treatment of infections due to susceptible strains of Gram-negative organisms (H. influenzae, P. mirabilis, N. gonorrhoeae) and Gram-positive organisms (Streptococci including Streptococcus faecalis and Streptococcus pneumoniae). It may also be indicated as a prophylaxis against alpha-hemolytic (Viridan's group) Streptococci and bacterial endocarditis in patients with certain cardiac conditions before dental, oral or upper respiratory tract surgery or instrumentation.
