What is QVAR used for?
QVAR (beclomethasone dipropionate) is indicated for the prophylactic management of steroid-responsive bronchial asthma in patients 5 years and older. How is it administered?
Administer by oral inhalation only. Adults (12+): 100-800 mcg/day in divided doses. Pediatrics (5-11): 50-100 mcg twice daily. Titrate to the lowest effective dose. Rinse mouth after use.

Contraindications
Primary treatment of status asthmaticus or acute asthma; moderate to severe bronchiectasis; untreated fungal, bacterial, or tuberculous respiratory infections; hypersensitivity to ingredients.
Warnings and precautions
Risk of adrenal insufficiency when transferring from systemic steroids. Paradoxical bronchospasm may occur. Not for acute attacks. Potential for HPA axis suppression and reduced bone density.
