Adults: 1.0 - 1.5 g/day. 250 mg or 500 mg suppositories t.i.d. or b.i.d., or 1000 mg once daily. Continue until remission. Dose tapering recommended. Prolonged retention improves results.

Contraindications
Urinary tract obstructions; infants under two years of age; hypersensitivity to salicylates (including Aspirin).
Warnings and precautions
Risk of kidney damage with prolonged therapy. Caution in patients with liver/kidney disease, bleeding disorders, or history of sulfasalazine allergy. Investigate epigastric pain.
