How is it administered?
Initial: 0.25 mcg/day. Titrate by 0.25 mcg/day at 2-4 week intervals based on serum calcium. Maintenance: 0.25 mcg every other day to 1.0 mcg/day. Pediatric doses based on mcg/kg/day.

Contraindications
Hypercalcemia; known hypersensitivity to calcitriol, vitamin D or its analogues; evidence of vitamin D overdosage.
