Adults: 250 mg q6h, 333 mg q8h, or 500 mg q12h. Children: 30-50 mg/kg/day in divided doses. Max 4 g/day. Best taken in fasting state (30 min before or 2 hours after meals).

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to erythromycin; resistant infections. Contraindicated with terfenadine, astemizole, pimozide, ergotamine, dihydroergotamine, or cisapride due to risk of cardiac arrhythmias.

QT prolongation, ventricular tachycardia, and torsades de pointes. Hepatic dysfunction. Clostridium difficile-associated disease (CDAD). Risk of myopathy with HMGCoA reductase inhibitors.
